Ah, you know, that’s a toughie for me. Since I used to work in suicide prevention and have had depression myself I’m intimately aware of the ways our minds can impact our outlooks. At the same time, things like practicing gratitude can have such a huge impact on our happiness levels. I think there’s this fine line between not denying our feelings, but at the same time being very intentional about improving our overall happiness and paying attention to how our perspective shapes the way we see things.
It’s a practice of reframing your perspective to foster hope, happiness, and imagination. It allows you to connect with your own inner light, and to use that perspective to interact with the world around you.

Sometimes I wonder if grumpy people realize that the reason that the world seems so bleak to them is because they go out into it in a bad mood!

I definitely wasn’t thinking of depression. I was thinking more about attitude. Thanks for the caution.

Thanks for this, I have been working with some of my clients on how their perspective influence things in their lives.
